Internet Sources: Politics, the media and other useful sites  This is the government of Canada’s Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Website  Statistics Canada’s latest information on FNMI people in this country based on the 2011 National Household survey.  It is important to note that some reserves and settlements did not participate in the survey, so the numbers are most likely higher than reported.  This is an interesting article which shows Amnesty International’s take on Canada’s Indigenous peoples. material relating to First Nations, Metis, and Inuit peoples, found in Saskatchewan cultural and heritage collections. “MEDIA INDIGENA is an interactive, multimedia magazine dedicated to Indigenous news, views and creative expression.” this is a fantastic Aboriginal news site.  It is American but there are very topical articles for various subject areas. this Canadian site has links to a news channel and an area where you can view individual episodes of popular Aboriginal programming this site was created by  the 1491s sketch comedy group, based in the wooded ghettos of Minnesota and buffalo grass of Oklahoma. they have a blog as well as short comedic videos which deal with many stereotypes. this site is an NFB site created by Marc St-Pierre, Collection Analyst in collaboration with the Aboriginal Perspectives team.  The material is organized by theme: The Arts, Cinema and Representation, Colonialism and Racism, Indigenous Knowledge, History and Origins, Sovereignty and Resistance, and Youth.
